Seven Painless Ways to Look Younger

Every woman is beautiful in her own way, regardless of her age, body type, skin color, and other features. However, some prefer to look a certain way, and this is fine, too. So, if you prefer to have a youthful look to your face, you could achieve it with seven painless methods of improving how you look.

Botox & Filler Injections

Botox and other filler injectables are available in most cosmetic surgery clinics. The price of injections varies in different parts of the state. Botox in Salt Lake City is likely to be more expensive than in rural cities in Utah, so it’s best to compare prices within the nearby cities.

Botox is a non-surgical treatment where Botox (a mixture of Botulinum toxin from bacteria found in mammals and other natural habitats diluted in saline) is injected into facial tissue. This is supposed to reduce the fine lines and wrinkles visible from aging. While Botox is administered using injections, the needle is so thin that plenty of Botox patients report a quick and mild prick. It takes up to a week for the injections to show visible effects.

8 Hours of Sleep

A 2015 study published in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine suggests that sleep deprivation can lead to faster biological aging. The study showed that just one night of insufficient sleep can make cells age quicker, leading to several biological processes speeding up, which could increase the risk of several diseases. Among these biological processes is rapid skin cell aging.

Most healthy adults practice sleeping between seven to nine hours. Preferably, you should be sleeping at night between the hours of 10 P.M. and 2 A.M., since this is the time when cell regeneration is at its highest. And contrary to that old wives’ tale, it is not OK to get fewer hours of sleep as one gets older.

Drinking Enough Fluids

Your skin is actually made of three layers: the external epidermis, inner dermis, and fatty subcutaneous tissue. If you aren’t drinking enough water, your epidermis can start to lose its elasticity and have a rougher feel to it. This could lead to wrinkling and older-looking skin.

However, this does not mean you should be forcing yourself to drink more water than the daily recommendation of half a gallon (roughly 2 liters or 64 ounces). That being said, there are no studies that indicate whether drinking extra water can make your skin extra youthful. But in any case, it’s best to stay within the healthy minimum amount.

Moisturizer and Sunscreen (At Least SPF 25)

Keeping your skin moisturized and free from drying elements can keep your skin supple, elastic, and youthful-looking. When using moisturizers and other cosmetics, use mild and non-drying types. This includes gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and skin care products that aren’t heavy in alcohol and fragrances, as these can dry out your skin. If you’re using mattifying products, avoid using it too much as it can dry out your skin.

If you’re walking outside in hot weather, moisturize more often (preferably in the morning and at night), or use a perfume-free sunscreen with at least SPF 25 for both UVA and UVB. The sun can dehydrate your skin, so keeping it extra hydrated can prevent wrinkling and aging.

Better Quality Makeup

Your skin may be fine, but your makeup quality, or the way you apply makeup can be affecting how youthful you look. Cakey makeup, for example, can make your skin look and feel bumpy and create a rough texture on your face even if you have naturally smooth skin. It can make your pores look bigger, your lines more enhanced, and the dark spots you’re trying to hide actually stand out.

If you want to look younger, ditch the matte makeup for a dewy and sheer finish. Use more natural-looking blushes and try to switch out powders for creams, since powders can be drying. Before putting makeup on, moisturize and prime your skin; let these dry first before applying makeup.

Beauty does not have to be painful. Looking younger can be as easy as changing your lifestyle or being careful about the products and procedures you put on your face.
